The Monaco royal family’s 2024 Christmas card is capturing attention for its distinctly different tone compared to last year’s regal presentation. On December 1, the Princier Palace shared the family photo on social media, featuring Prince Albert II, Princess Charlene, and their 9-year-old twins, Prince Jacques and Princess Gabriella.

“The Princier Palace is pleased to share with you the photo of the greeting card of the Princier family” read the Instagram caption.

A Cozy, Casual Holiday Look

This year’s card portrays a cozy, laid-back atmosphere, with the four were seen wearing neutral colors as they gathered around the living room, posing in front of a large Christmas tree with candles, garlands, and the top of a fireplace in the background. The casual outfits, coupled with a relaxed setting, marked a departure from the formality of the 2023 card.

A Festive Start to the Season

The Christmas card release coincided with Monaco’s annual holiday celebrations. On Saturday, November 30, Prince Albert and Princess Charlene, joined by their children, presided over the lighting ceremony at Place du Casino. The event featured an 18-meter Christmas tree adorned with dazzling lights, as well as LED reindeer installations that brightened the night.

Contrasting Last Year’s Opulence

This year’s card marks a dramatic shift from the 2023 Christmas card, which featured the family in opulent formal wear against the grandiose backdrop of the Christmas tree. The previous card emphasized regal splendor, with the twins dressed in miniature formal attire and the parents in evening wear, embodying the traditional image of monarchy.
